The Community Wildfire Protection Plan
As a fire safe council we work with many different agencies from our city, county and state. We need to get those agencies on the same page when it comes to wildfire in our community.
Our goal is to make our community as safe as possible from wildfire. Most of Clairemont, Linda Vista and Bay Park are in Very High Fire Hazard Risk Zone or VHFHRZ. This is because we have those beautiful canyons. These canyons often cause issues with fire and evacuation. Because of this, we need to come together to produce a document called the Community Wildfire Protection Plan or CWPP. This plan will put everyone on the same page and with the best information to keep everyone safe.
This is a significant document and we need your help with it. There is research to be done, information to be gathered, and a document template filled. We are lucky we have many other new fire safe councils in San Diego County. We are all going through the same process and everyone is ready to share and help, so we don't have to reinvent the wheel.
Can you please help us help the community?
